72' rarely disappoints and I almost always got to Playin' and Bird Song first on 72' shows. I just love the way they feeling those tunes had in 72'...they really took them into the jazzy, spacey realm without getting so far out that the tunes lost their drive like would sometimes happen in 73'...not that the far out space is a bad thing, I just have to be in the right mood for that. I never get sick of the 72' spacey stuff.

Yep, 72 was a big year. I agree that the jams on songs such as Dark Star, Playin, Other One, Truckin that particular year are probably the finest demonstration of musicianship this band has performed since the acid drenched era of 1968-1969. Perhaps the next box attempt will be a string of excellent fall 1972 shows, i'd be very pleased with a 1974 "Wall of Sound" box. Lots here to talk about and the pictorial documentary will be fun.

Based on the entropic nature and limited life span of the marketability of CD's, logic stands to reason it'll probably be late April-May 1977 assuring a strong sell-through.
